When were the roles advertised?

Vacancies went live on the NCA Website, Social Media and Local press at 09.00hrs on 9th November 2015.

When do the adverts close?

Our Microsite is open for registration and applications until 17.00hrs on 16th November 2015.

What if I miss the closing deadline?

If you submit your application after the closing date and time, your application will not be considered under any circumstances.

How do I apply?

All our adverts list the address of our online registration and application 'microsite'. Once at this site you will be asked to create a Log On account. You can then complete the 'eligibility questionnaire' and if you are eligible, complete and submit an application form.

Who can apply?

Anyone can apply, providing you have all the 'essential' criteria asked for on our microsite. This will be assessed during your registration by an 'eligibility questionnaire'. If you are not eligible to apply then you will not be asked to complete an application form online.


As stated on the advert, the majority of candidates will enter the NCA at this grade on a salary of £17,689 per annum.

Positions in London attract an additional £3,194 London Weighting.

Positions that require shift work (24/7 pattern) will attract a 12.5% uplift in salary.

NCA can match current civil servants salaries up to £22,407 on production of a valid up to date pay slip.

These salaries are not negotiable.


All locations listed on the advert currently have vacancies i.e. London, Warrington, Birmingham, Leicester and Bristol. There may be other locations available which will be discussed at a later stage in the recruitment process.

What happens after I have submitted my application?

If your initial application is successful you will be asked to take two online tests. You will be given a timeframe in which to complete these tests. These online tests will be run between 20th November and 24th November 2015.

You will need to complete these online tests regardless of your formal qualifications.

If you pass both of these online tests you will be invited to Interview. Interviews will be run week commencing 7th & 14th December 2015. No alternative dates will be offered.

Interviews will be taking place at Warrington, Leicester, Birmingham, Bristol and Central London.

Candidates will not be able to claim travel expenses in order to attend an Interview.

Will I need to take a drugs test?

All applicants must be willing to undergo testing for drugs at interview stage.

Security clearance

If you have security clearance with another agency, you will still need to be cleared by the NCA Vetting Team.

If I am successful, when will I start in my new role?

NCA is aiming to get the majority of successful candidates into post by March 2016.
